Description
This course will provide hands-on training in a single-use biomanufacturing process using mammalian cell culture and the latest technologies spanning upstream and downstream operations. Participants will gain laboratory experience in media and solution preparation (single-use mixing systems), adherent and suspension cell culture (single-use bioreactors in both rocker, stirred-tank, and fixed bed configurations), cell harvest (e.g., depth filtration), as well as other downstream operations. In addition to extensive hands-on experience with the process, the course will also address many of the common concerns when implementing single-use processes (i.e., sterile connections, environmental concerns/carbon footprint, business economics, and validation).
